Welcome to St. Thomas Indian Orthodox Church, Aberdeen

St Thomas Indian Orthodox Church, Aberdeen is a parish of the UK-Europe & Africa Diocese of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church of India. We inherit the untainted apostolic faith from Apostle St Thomas which has been upheld and preserved with reverence for generations.

Warm greetings and blessings to all in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ

It brings me immense joy to extend a heartfelt welcome to you all to the digital abode of our beloved parish, St. Thomas Indian Orthodox Church, Aberdeen. As we embark on this journey of faith and fellowship together, let us take a moment to reflect on the rich tapestry of our church's history and the blessings that have brought us to where we stand today.

Our story began in May 2009, when a vision to unite Indian Orthodox families in Aberdeen blossomed into reality. Inspired by the apostolic zeal of St. Thomas, who brought the light of the Gospel to our shores, we named our congregation in his honor. With the benevolent approval of our Metropolitan, Dr. Mathews Mar Thimothios, we were formally declared as "St. Thomas Indian Orthodox Congregation."

Since then, our parish has been a beacon of faith and community spirit in Aberdeen. From our humble beginnings, we have flourished under the dedicated leadership of our vicars, each contributing their own unique touch to our spiritual journey. Today, I am humbled to serve as your vicar, entrusted with the sacred duty of shepherding this flock towards the light of Christ.

At St. Thomas Indian Orthodox Church, we are not just a congregation; we are a family bound by love and devotion to our Lord. Our activities, from Sunday School to charity fundraisers, reflect our commitment to nurturing the faith of every member, young and old. Together, we celebrate the holy festivals of our tradition and engage in meaningful outreach to our community.

As we look to the future, guided by the wisdom of our Metropolitan and the example of our Savior, Jesus Christ, let us continue to grow in faith and service. May this digital platform serve as a gateway to deepen our connection with each other and with God.

I extend a warm invitation to all to join us in worship, fellowship, and service. May the peace and grace of our risen Lord be with you always.

With prayers and best wishes,

Rev. Fr. Varghese P. A.
Vicar, St. Thomas Indian Orthodox Church, Aberdeen
