OVBS 2024
Dear Beloved in Christ,
We are blessed to announce that the Orthodox Vacation Bible School (OVBS) 2024 has been divinely completed, under the sacred theme "Let's Pray" inspired by St. Luke Chapter 11 Verse 1. Held on the 21st and 22nd of December from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, our event culminated in a heartfelt OVBS Closing Ceremony on the 31st of December, followed by Holy Qurbana.
We are deeply grateful for the enthusiastic participation and support of our congregation members, which made this event a resounding success. Your dedication to faith and learning is truly inspiring.

We are blessed to share that the Aberdeen STIOC Christmas Carol Service 2024 has been joyfully completed! 🎄✨

Both sessions, held on Sunday, 8th December, and Sunday, 15th December, were filled with festive cheer, joyous music, and a wonderful sense of community fellowship. It was truly heartwarming to see so many members come together to celebrate the season of love and hope.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated and made these events memorable. Your presence and enthusiasm are what made this celebration special.

Somebody Cares Food Bank
Please join IOC Aberdeen in supporting ‘Someday Cares Food Bank’. We will be collecting items at our Church on every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month.
How can you help with a food bag?
Come join us for a Tea or Coffee every 2nd and 4th Sunday (3.30 pm – 05.00 pm) of the month at Great Western Community Centre and feel free to donate any non-perishable items. We will drop all contributions at Somebody Cares facility every month end. You may also be able to grab an ‘Indian Curry Box’ for a voluntary contribution.

Thanksgiving and Gratitude for the Grace-Filled Completion of the Annual Feast of St. Thomas and St. Gregorios
On behalf of the Indian Orthodox Church Aberdeen, we are pleased to announce the grace-filled completion of the Annual Feast of St. Thomas and St. Gregorios of Parumala, held on October 26th and 27th, 2024. The Orthodox Convention and Perunnal Celebration were filled with spiritual grace, joy, and unity, as members and families gathered in prayer and fellowship. We are grateful to God for blessing us with a beautiful and meaningful event, celebrating the intercession of our beloved Saints.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who participated, supported, and contributed to making this celebration memorable. Your presence, prayers, and assistance were invaluable in bringing together our parish community and strengthening our faith.

Feast of St. George Celebration
​
With hearts full of reverence and devotion, we extend a heartfelt invitation to join us for the blessed Feast of St. George at St. Thomas Indian Orthodox Church, Aberdeen, UK, on April 27th and 28th.
Led by the esteemed Rev. Fr. Dr. John Mathews, Professor at Nagpur Seminary, alongside the Vicar, Rev. Fr. Varghese P. A., parishioners will gather for a series of sacred ceremonies and prayers.
The schedule of events includes an evening prayer on April 27th at 06:30 PM, followed by morning prayers and Holy Qurbana on April 28th starting at 08:00 AM. Additionally, an intercessory prayer session and Nercha will be observed.
The celebration will take place at The Stables, Brimmond Church, Bucksburn, Aberdeen, AB21 9SS.
